|From Brooklyn Bridge:|
Continue straight to State St. [1 block before Atlantic Ave.] Turn left on State St. and proceed 2.5 blocks Cathedral is on the left.
From Whitestone or Throgs Neck Bridges, the Triborough Bridge and Queens:
From the Whitestone or Throgs Neck Bridge, take Long Island Expressway or Grand Central Parkway to the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (BQE) toward Brooklyn (278 West).
From the Triborough Bridge or other points in Queens, take the Brooklyn Queens Expressway (BQE) toward Brooklyn (278 West).
BQE at Tillary Street. Proceed on Tillary Street past Flatbush and turn
left on Jay Street. Proceed on Jay Street to Schermerhorn Street and
turn left on Schermerhorn. Go to the next light and turn right on Hoyt
Street and then take the first left on State Street. The Cathedral is on the left.
Follow the above directions to the BQE. Exit BQE at Atlantic Ave. Turn right onto Atlantic Ave. and go straight to Smith St. Turn left on Smith St. and then right on State St. Proceed 2.5 blocks. The Cathedral is on the left.
From Staten Island:
Cross the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and continue on 278 (Brooklyn-Queens Expressway) to Atlantic Ave. Exit Atlantic Ave., turn right and continue to Smith Street (about 1 mile). Turn left on Smith Street and go one block to State St. Turn right on State. St. and the Cathedral will be 2.5 blocks on the left.
From the George Washington Bridge:
Stay to the right when crossing the bridge. Follow the signs to Harlem River Drive. Continue down Harlem River Drive which will turn into the FDR Drive. Take this all the way to the Brooklyn Bridge. Take the Brooklyn Bridge Exit. Cross the bridge and continue straight to State St. (one block before Atlantic Ave.) Turn left on State St. and the Cathedral will be on the left about 2.5 blocks down.
Stay to the right when crossing the bridge. Follow the signs to the West Side Highway. Take the West Side Highway South (downtown) and follow the directions from the Holland or Lincoln tunnels below.
Note: The first set of directions is faster under normal circumstances, however, the second set is an alternative if there is traffic on the FDR drive, especially during rush hour.
From the Lincoln or Holland Tunnels:
Upon exiting either of the tunnels, follow the signs to the West Side Highway. Take the West Side Highway South [left] to Chambers Street (just before site of the former World Trade Center). Turn left on Chambers Street and go to the end. Turn right and enter the Brooklyn bridge. Follow directions from Brooklyn Bridge above.
Note: If you miss Chambers Street, continue straight and follow the Battery Park underpass. Once you come out you will be on the FDR Drive North. Take the Brooklyn Bridge exit and follow the directions from the Brooklyn Bridge above.
It is advisable to listen to traffic reports when approaching New York City on either 880 AM or 1010 AM. They both give updates every ten minutes, "on the eights" and "on the ones" respectively.
|"F" train: To Jay St. - Borough Hall:|
Transfer across platform to "A" or "C" train to Hoyt - Schermerhorn. Exit station at Bond Street: walk one block to State Street, make a right, Cathedral is off of the corner. Exit on Hoyt Street: walk one block to State Street, make a left, Cathedral is at the end of the block.
"A" or "C" train: to Hoyt - Schermerhorn:
Exit station at Bond Street: walk one block to State St., make a right, Cathedral is off of the corner. Exit at Hoyt Street: walk one block to State Street, make a left, Cathedral is at the end of the block.
"D", "Q", "N", "M" or "R" train to DeKalb Avenue:
Exit station on corner of Flatbush Avenue and DeKalb Aves Make a left on DeKalb Ave. and walk one block to Bond St. Make a left on Bond St. and walk three blocks to State St. Make a right on State St.; the Cathedral is off of the corner.
Parking around the Cathedral
The Cathedral has a small parking lot of its own, however, the spaces are rented to the neighbors. Nevertheless, for evening services, people are allowed to park in any open spots. Likewise, on Sunday mornings, we have exclusive use of our lot. Please keep in mind, however, that except for funerals when there is someone outside watching the lot, people are not to block the middle of the lot under any circumstances.
